Thank-you.

Barbara was born as Barbara A, and rootschat has a no living persons policy.

You can find her birth on free bmd.

She would now be about 75.

You could get her birth certificate for exact date of birth.

Any idea of year of marriage?

Hi Emily, I am so pleased that you are getting some assistance. I don't think visiting Waterway Street now would be much help because it's undergone so much renovation in that area. The number of times I have been to Nottingham I have never bothered to go to Waterway Street. The other problem of course you have come across is possible living people which for confidentiality reasons are not discussed on Rootschat.

I you in a position to be able to go to Nottingham? You may find that the parish register would help also. All this again can be done at the Nottinghamshire Archives.

Good luck,
Robert…

Thank you very very much everyone for all the advice. Might just have to have a trip to Nottingham then :) . I think Barbara may have moved to Beeston. Just knowing her initial helps a lot and might might lead me into the right direction. Apologies I've only just realised that another person has replied as well, I thought I was still talking to you Robert.
I think Barbara must have married very late 60's or boarder line 70's.
Best regards
Emily

I've been searching for hours, by  just knowing her middle initial helped massively(thanks chempat for that tip). There is only one marriage certificate from late 50's -early 70's registered Barbara A Hutchinson in Nottingham . Her marriage name and age matches matches a Barbara A ******* in Beeston. I have an address, I might be a bit to keen but I am going to write to her. I have nothing to lose right :). The only thing is that would mean she was under 20 when she married but in those days that was quite common I think . Hope I'm on the right track.
Emily

No, you are not being too keen.

A nice letter will be fine.  Possibly with a contact phone number, email, and a return sae.

You will only regret it if you do not write.

Rob - I went to school with a MINKLEY.  I still chat to her occasionally on FB.  The family lived at Clifton.  Might they belong to you?
