My gt grandfather James Harper was working as a forester in Cleish in 1841. He married in Lasswade but he and his wife, Hannah Dobbie, brought up 11 children in Cleish. Hannah died in 1878 and James in 1891.
What sort of information could I access in your museum which might give me some more idea of their life in the area?
