The Curran in the Irish side played as a forward in the game.

The Scottish Referee 11-10-1909:

"Shanks and Curran were the only forwards to do themselves justice. The Portadown outside right has a rare turn of speed, and the only thrills the enthusiastic Irishmen were treated to during the afternoon were the result of this clever lad's efforts."
