CALDWELL FAMILY BELFAST

I am looking for any information on my great grandmother and great grandfather Caldwell c1800-1900.  Christian names unknown.

They had three sons William, (I believe married and moved to Southern Ireland), Johnnie (killed at the Battle of the Somme), Hugh (had a shop in Glenalpine Street Sandy Row) and my grandmother Sarah birth/death dates unknown.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

James Caldwell Pensioner 7 Lancaster St.
Mrs Jane Caldwell Boarding house 6 Malone place this is at the top of Sand Row so she could be one of them.

William Caldwell Porkcutter 22 M'Tier's St.
William Caldwell Weaver 6 Renwick place of Sandy Row.

1896 Directory.
William Caldwell Yarndresser 10 Wesley St of Albion St of Sandy Row.

Rev, J Caldwell 43 Wellesley Ave near Sandy Row.

Thankyou so much for the information on the Caldwell Family.  Wesley Street rings a bell with me.

Can you tell me whereabouts the following streets were in Sandy Row - Lancaster Street, M'Tier's Street and Renwick Place.

I found William and Johnnie Caldwell living at 36 Teutonic Street on the Ulster Covenant site  but no trace of Hugh.  ???I also found my grandmother Sarah Shanks (nee Caldwell) living at Swanback Street   

My grandmothers brother Hugh aka Hughie who had the shop in Glenalpin Street won the pools one time (not Littlewoods or Vernons) and had a cheque presented to him somewhere in Belfast City Centre.

Anthony, is there anyway you could check for Caldwells after 1896 in your directories?

I am new to all this so any advice or help would be most appreciated.

Hi Isobel. Lancaster St was not in Sandy Row it was off North Queen St about 1 mile away from Sandy Row.
M'Tier's St is off the Shankill Rd about 1 mile from Sandy Row
Can't find Renwick place but Renwick St was off Sandy Row.

I have found a Thomas Shanks living at 12 Teutonic St 1896.

I have Belfast Street Directories for, 1852/1896/1949/1962/1973

1949 Directory there are 50 names for Caldwell in it.
