Moodys, Garvagh
« on: Wednesday 17 March 10 19:09 GMT (UK) »
I am seeking  information about the family of Alexander Moody of Garvagh. His daughter Nancy Moody married Thomas Turner, son of William Turner of Ballinameen on 16th March 1864 at Desertoghill Cof I. Witnesses were William Turner and William F Campbell.

I have only just started working on this branch of Moodys so any information relating to Alexander's wife, his siblings and the previous generation would be very, very helpful. Is it worth looking at the church records for Desertoghill C of I? Thanks in anticipation.

Early C. of I records no longer exist- no baptisms or bural records before 1870.
Was Nancy Moody's father Alexander a blacksmith?

Moodys would have been Presbyterian but Turners were Church of Ireland. Can't see anything in local church records for name of Aleander's wife, etc.
