I have a death cert for a James Wilson, who died in Dundee in 1871.

Aged 70.

Married to Janet Thomson and Magdalen D*eat? 

Parents listed as James Wilson and Janet Wilson - maiden name Low
Dundee:
Byrne, Cooney, Clark, Wilson, Milne, McCormack, Wynn, Taylor, Morrison, Traynor, Stewart, Kilmartin, Hays, Cheape, Hosie, Carr, Stormont.

Ireland: Devanah, Byrne, Traynor, Carr, Canon.

Do you still have the death certificate?  I believe it may be my gt-gt-gt grandfather James Wilson, born about 1801 in Liff.  His wife was Magdalene Ducat. In the 1871 census he was living at 26 Thomson Street, Dundee, with his daughter Jessie (28).  He was stated to be a mason.
