This is my uncle Rody who died as you can see, too young. He was from New Road ,Birr. His parents were Annie Harte, died 2009 at the age of 92 and Michael Harte, died 1974. They had 8 children (1died at birth). My mother the oldest and her siblings are all still living, 3 still in Birr.(*)

Nancy was my Great Aunt and lived in Birr for many years. Further info temporarily removed until I have resolved an issue with another contributor.

Hi everyone,
I posted a reply earlier to this post, but would like to pass on a bit more information in the hope of finding out more. My grandfather was Joseph Harte b 1870 (originally Hart - the 'e' was added by the army). He was married in 1918 to Margaret McGrath, a widow, formerly married to a Regan, who had 4 children that I know of - Mary Bridget (Pidgie) b 1904, John Joseph (Jack) b 1906, Michael b c 1908 and Edward Francis (Ted) b 1913. Michael was the only one to stay in Birr. Joseph and Margaret had 5 children (again that I know of) - Anthony b c 1918, Elizabeth b 1919, Charles b 1921, Joseph b 1923 and my mum Margaret (Beanie) 1924.
I believe that my granddad's parents were Michael Hart and Eliza Corboy and that his siblings were Ralph, Rody and Eliza although I have recently come across a Peter and I am almost certain that my mum mentioned an uncle Rory also.
If anyone has any more information or is a part of the family I would love to hear from you. Many thanks,
Lesley

Rody Hart's brother Joseph 1874 -1951 is buried in the grave left of Rodys near Leavys grave. It is an old headstone with a yellow streak on the front of it. His wife Margaret Mc Grath who died in 1939 is also buried in the grave. Joe's daughter Mrs Elizabeth Daly and some of her children are buried in the grave in front of Rody. All the graves can be seen in the photograph.
