Hollander has not been active on RC since last year. In case he doesn't see the post, my copy of the register (printed 1965) has the following:

Lowe, John (Foundation Scholarship holder) b. 12 Dec 1925. [attended MGS] 1936-1942
Prefect. Rugby. Clare College Cambridge (S) Classical Tripos Part I 1946, 1st Class. Part II 1947, 2nd Class Div. J. BA 1947. MA 1950. After a number of Teaching Posts, now Assistant Classical Master at Cheltenham Ladies College.
48 Eldon Rd, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The explanatory text in the Register foreword says that (S) stands for Scholar and (E) stands for Exhibitioner.

I have been in touch with the MGS archivist and am hoping for some more information soon.    I also trawled through the MGS archive twitter feed which included a photo of the WW2 evacuation to Blackpool and I remember my dad telling me he was evacuated.
