I live in Godmanchester and I'm willing to trudge round St Mary's churchyard if anyone is looking for a grave.

Hi Tomohawk - I used to live in Godmanchester  and my mother died in 1985 and I wasn't able to go to the funeral - I was in America - I wondered if it would be possible for you to find any information? Her name was Annie Cooper -  she lived on London Street -   but then moved and I'm racking my brain for the address -  I would appreciate any help you could give me Thanking you in advance!

Was your mother buried in Godmanchester churchyard?  I can certainly have a look around the graveyard over Easter to see if I can find her grave.  If I do I can take a picture and send it to you.  Was Annie her full name or a shortened version?  Can you remember the approximate date in 1985?

Took a look in the churchyard and the cemetry today but unfortunately I couldn't find your mother's grave.  I only had a quick scout round the churchyard as they are mainly old graves with the odd one or two newer (40/50/60's).  Most in the cemetry were from around 1970 onwards.  Was she cremated?  It may be that her ashes are at Cambridge Crematorium at Madingley.

Sorry couldn't find her although it was a lovely day for a wander round the graves!

Tomohawk -  Thank you so much for looking ! -  I seem to remember talk of a cemetery on London Road - it upset me greatly not to be able to go - but I just couldn't get there! - my sister bought a stone I believe - I'll see if I can get anything from the  church .. in fact I was just on the Godmanchester web site to see if I could get through to the church that way.. no luck yet but I'll keep trying -  I really do appreciate your time and help... is the stone about the caution to all young women still there? Regards Annie
