1871 that you quote only has initial, and no birth found .....

The middle name is given as Clifton in the 1901 census ("Kathleen Clifton" followed by a ditto mark for GREEN): RG13/506/45/25.

i also have a copy of the GRO certificate for her sister Mabel's marriage at which she was a witness and signed herself Kathleen Clifton Green.
I just get the feeling I'm missing something obvious here ::)
Parents married 1863
No children I have traced until Kathleen Clifton Green in abt 1868.
Rapidly followed by four more by 1873.
Katherine died between 1873 and 1881 when William Robert remarried.
All births and baptisms documented in and around Peckham except Kathleen's birth and Katherine's death which I haven't yet found.

I see the christening of sister Mabel Waygood Green in 1869 - parents William Robert and Katherine and they were living in CLIFTON Road!

Wow! I hadn't picked up on the Clifton Road.
This could be her in 1881 although it says she was born in Peckham.
RG11; Piece: 818; Folio: 104; Page: 10

I wondered about the 1880 death for Katherine but as far as I know she was born in about 1839 in Bradford.
This is a rough calculation from census returns and her marriage certificate and there is a Katherine Gibson born Bradford Sep 1839 on Free BMD.
She was 'of full age' in 1863.

It's difficult to leave these ones alone when you feel the answer must be out there somewhere!

Hi,
I found recently that one of my relatives, Alice Wood, was the second wife of William Robert Green and in 1891 they lived in The Arbor Lodge, The Retreat, Peckham.
Kathleen Clifton Green b 1868 in Peckham and and her siblings  Mable, David and Frederick were  with them.
I also found that the Arbor Lodge was destroyed by German bombe on 11 Dec 1940.
I cannot find when WRG died. Do you know?
