I am trying to trace who contibuted 2 photos the 1st is on page 56 of Bullcroft Home Guard, 2nd on page 185 of Queens Road Carcroft my late mother and father in law are in both photos and would love copies of them as all family photos from this time have been lost.  I have tried copying from the book but the quality is very poor.

Write to the Publisher and ask.  There will have been an editor at the publishers who will know about such things.

Also is there any form of acknowledgement in the book itself about the source of the photos?

Was it the Local Studies Librarian with whom you talked?  She'd know more about local pics than the ordinaray section librarian.

Let us know how you go with this please :)

Hi maplea,
Try the local studies section who compiled local photos, collected from the general public, on to CD for viewing in the branch libraries. Perhaps you may find them on there.
http://www.doncaster.gov.uk/Leisure_in_Doncaster/Libraries/Archives_Local_Studies/Local_Studies_Library.asp

There is also a local history group for the Carcroft/Adwick/Skellow areas that meet on Fridays in Carcroft.
