Dowlings from Clondalkin, Dublin
« on: Monday 12 April 10 22:00 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have information about the Dowling Family who lived in the Clondalkin Commons from the mid 1800s to the mid 1900s.  I have tracked back to Patrick and Bridget who owned a farm in the Commons until the late 1880s when their son, William and his wife Bridget took over.

Have a look on Griffiths, about 4 Patrick Dowlings showing up. It may be 4 different reople or fewer people with land in different lots.

If you know the location of the farm in question the relevany map may help you identify the correct Patrick.

Also, check out Church Records for Clondalkin.

Good luck with your search.

Dara.

Hi
I have recently completed my family tree which involved a lot of work with the church records in Clondalkin and I have to say the church was very helpful allowing me to look at the records.
My grandfather was friendly with the Dowlings and helped to look after Jack on the Naas road before he died.

Around what years would your grandfather have cared for Jack?  Do you know if that Jack is the grandfather of Cyril Dowling of Baldonnel?
