Hi 14horses, and welcome to RootsChat!

The passenger list details means that she came into Liverpool Docks in April 1937.  From the same list, you should also be able to see from where she departed, and how old she is.

Find my past has the outgoing passenger list, so you might find your mother doing the other leg of the journey.

Hope that helps a bit,

Spider

Just to put a spanner in the works.

Are you SURE it's her? Or may it just be someone about the same age who happens to have the same name.

Just a thought - Liverpool was a big port. Thousands came and went. Highly likely that one or two had the same names. .

I've just had a look at the passenger manifest, and the information that it contains is as follows:
Port of embarkation
Port passengers have contracted to land at (looks like they stopped at Plymouth first and then Liverpool)
Name
Class
Age
Proposed address in UK
Profession
Country of last permanent residence
Country of intended permanent residence

I don't know whether you have managed to have a look at the full entry for your mother, but perhaps some of the details entered in these columns will help you work out what happened.

Hi 14horses,

Welcome :)

Perhaps if you posted your Mums name, but only if she is not living, we might be able to help you further.
As Anne says the Liverpool lady could be someone else, especially if her name is not uncommon.
