Hi
Our National Archives website has an enlistment record of interest.
It is for a man names GEORGE CONSTANTINE PIERCE, letter carrier born in Sydney about 1898.
His father GRAHAM HUNTER PIERCE is his next of kin and he lives at TURRAMURRA.
Because he is underage his parents signatures are required and his mother signs as BERTHA G (GEORGINA) PIERCE.
Later in the file, in 1917, GEORGE confesses to using an assumed name and his real surname is MASTERS.

Asworn  declaration by his father GRAHAM HUNTER PIERCE refers to his son and is dated 31/7/1917.

This is the death you refer to above.

In 1911  PIERCE,  GRAHAM H.  father JOHN mother MARGARET  SYDNEYref.  4272

Their marriage
In 1908. GRAHAM H . PIERCE to BERTHA G.  MASTERS ref. 3550

Death of BERTHA

1950 PIERCE, BERTHA GEORGINA (STRINGFELLOW)aged 71 YRS  WAHROONGAat CHATSWOOD ref. 18394

Sue

Is this his birth :-\

MASTERS  George C
Father George  Mother Bertha
District Sydney

and a sibling

28866/1902
MASTERS  Olga R
Father George Mother Bertha

There are a couple of deaths for a George MASTERS in the first couple of years of 1900's.

Cheers

Hi All,

I've NOT found Graham Hunter Pierce in Sydney NSW on the 1903 Electoral Roll in the electorates that  I've checked.  (I don't have keyword searchable access).   Presume that's why Troods has noticed a gap in the Sands directories ....   Could he have been in regional NSW, or inter-state or 'overseas'

Intriguing  ;D

He does not appear on my NSW 1903 electoral roll at all.

Australian Electoral Roll
1954 NSW
MASTERS George Constantine  Pacific Highway Kanwal  Farmer
MASTERS Marguerite Valinda Jane  Pacific Highway  Kanwal  HD

and his death

00469/1975
MASTERS  George Constantine
Father George  Mother Bertha Georgina
No district noted.

So he was using the surname PIERCE when he was born a MASTERS but his mother was Bertha Georgina STRINGFELLOW who married a MASTERS and and then George Hunter PIERCE.

Hello,

I need some information on GRAHAM HUNTER PIERCE who was born 1849 in Southwark and died in 1911 Sydney, Aus. He married Mercy Burnet (not sure if this is a surname or middle name) and they had a daughter, Emily , who died in 1918 Sydney. Thanks!

Anna Edwards

Perhaps Emily was born post 1909 limit of online birth registrations.  Perhaps someone with the later births could do a lookup.  Do you have Emily's year of birth?

We do not have GRAHAM HUNTER PIERCE snr's death registration clearly yet.

He could not have died in 1911 if he is signing sworn things in 1917 which refer to monetory installments due to his wife BERTHA from the Army. You can't forge things like that (or can you? ???)
