Hi, Abiam2, I can look for you on my next visit to the archives in chester.  It will be in five weeks time though and you may want to ask on another post if anyone is going before me.

I would be most grateful if you can look up Herbert it would be between 1935 an Oct 1938.  A very short time span!  I am still waiting for his death cert ordered March 26!  It will be interesting to see where he actually died and what of.
I do know I have the right Herbert Price in the tree so it is really just fill in details which I like to find if I can.

Many thanks for the offer and let's hope you'll be lucky,
Abiam2

Hi, Abiam2, Others have reported a delay in receiving certificates.  I am sure it will be due to the rush prior to the increase in fees.  I would appreciate you letting me know the recorded town of death when you receive the death cert as this will narrow down the search.  I am going again on Tuesday 25th May.

Just to let you know I have found out that Herbert and Ethel Price were at "The Cape of Good Hope Inn" between the years 1936 and 1938.  This comes from a very kind lady at Cheshire Archives.  She found them on the Electoral Roll.
Another little piece of the jigsaw.  Now just the easy bit left! ;D to find his wife's whereabouts in 1891 aged 4.
Thanks for your help,
Abiam2
PS I still have not received his death cert.  3 complaints made!!!

The Cape certainly does still exist in Tilston.  It is just called The Cape and is up near the church on a bad bend.  I live in Tilston and apparently there were no less than 19 ale houses at one time here, most just a room where a person would serve drink.  The Cape was one of these.

Tilstongirl,
Thanks for that information.  It is very interesting to me and I wonder if I would be asking too much if you could take a photo?  I can send my email address by Private Message and you could send it to me that way or post it on here.  BUT please don't worry if you can't.
And welcome to Roots Chat I'm sure you will find it both a great help and fun,
Cheers,
Abiam2

As I posted before The Cape of Good Hope Inn building is still there see  http://www.rootschat.com/links/08i9/   it is the white building.   :) You can see the church if you go to the right.

Thanks Stan.  I was just hoping Tilstongal could get a little closer with perhaps, the name of the house showing.
