Livia it is possible to purchase transcriptions of certificates in South Australia.  Much cheaper than a certified certificate.

Details on ALL certificates in South Australia

From 1948 places of burial were noted on death certificates.    I wonder if Charles Henry and Hannah are buried together.

Charles died in District Adelaide [Ade] If you do not live in Adelaide, the Unley Library offer free transcriptions of events in District Ade only.

There is a downloadable form on the website.  Perhaps you should note the information that is available on death certificates in 1934...it may not be of much use to you apart from number of issue...no names on SA certs.

Cheers

Thanks again, Cando, I will investigate further through the links you have provided. Hannah outlived her husband by 30-odd years and was buried with a sister, so Charles must be somewhere else.

Not knowing that wonderful Rootschatters would be able to give me Charles' death date, I trawled SA cemetery sites but couldn't find a mention of him anywhere. From what I know, I wouldn't be surprised if the poor man ended up in a pauper's grave.

Can't wait to finish work for the day and push on with this.

There will be a burial record for Charles even if he was buried in a public grave as a 'pauper'.  In which cemetery was Hannah buried?

Hi Livia,
Are you related to the Motleys?  Well hope this is good news for you as I am related to them via the Enright line.  My grandmother Ada May Enright is the daughter of Michael John Enright.  Her sister is Aunty Gert.  I have done quite a bit of work on the Enrights/Motleys.  I would have to check my records but I think Dorothy has died.  I am in touch with her children in Adelaide though.

If you would like to provide me with your email address (via pm) we could correspond.  I'm writing this at work at the moment so will need to be home to check my records.
Regards

Hi,
I would be interested in any information you have on the Motley's. I believe that I too, may somehow be related to them.

Regards,
Jo
