Hi, I am pretty sure I am linked to this Bocock line. My great great great grandfather is Robert Bocock. He had my great great grandfather William Bocock (born 29th July 1854 and he was the one who immigrated to New Zealand on the boat " Halcione in 1875. He was married to Betsy Ann Smith.
My mother was a Bocock.

Would love any information you may have if this is the same linked Bocock family.
I am very new to all this family tree stuff.

Regards
Lesley
My BOCOCK ancestors in Lincolnshire include ;

ELSIE, b Scunthorpe 1917.
ROBERT  ALFRED, b  North Cockerington 1891.
ALFRED,  b Irby-upon-Humber 1859.
ROBERT, b Rothwell, christened there JAN 1835.
WILLIAM, christened Cuxwold FEB 1807.
JAMES, christened Irby-upon-Humber JUL 1784.
WILLIAM b c 1755.

This last WILLIAM married Mary Gunnell at Irby-upon-Humber on 6 MAY 1777.
Their children were ;

JOHN (Chr. Hawersby cum Beesby 1777),
WILLIAM (Chr. Irby 1779)
ROBERT (Chr. Irby 1781)
JAMES (Chr. Irby 1784).

The eldest William was living at Irby-upon-Humber at the time of the 1841 Census (HO 107/638 4 Irb.-u-H 37/4) where he is described as an 85 years old agricultural labourer).  William died the following year and was buried on 20 AUG 1842 at Irby-upon-Humber.

1.Does anyone feel they may be related to any of my Bocock ancestors?
If so, I have more information to share.

2. Does anyone know when and where WILLIAM BOCOCK was born, and who his parents were ?

Thank you. Yes, the date seems about right. I live outside the UK but currently visiting after many years. I have been trying to find her grave. Sadly, I assumed she was buried in Spilsby, Lincolnshire but can find no trace. She was like a grandmother to me. Any more information would be appreciated.

Hi
I have just come across this post and have read it with great interest.
My husband is a Bocock born in Scunthorpe. John Tranfield is his great, great grandfather. I have never been sure about his wife believing it to be either Sarah Kirgarth or Sarah Corringham Woodhead. His father Benjamin was born around 1800 and died in Brigg Union workhouse. His father was William and I think had 2 marriages firstly to Susannah Oxley and then to Ann Blanchard. The spelling of Bocock varies a good deal and I’m not always sure if I’m following the same line! Geoff’s William is my husband’s 5X g grandfather born in Irby and married to Mary Gunnel. I think his father could be a Samuel Bocock born in 1726.
If anyone has firm evidence for any of these Bococks I would be very grateful as my tree is full of question marks!

Elsie is a 5th cousin removed of mine.  I can't tell you much more about her,  she was buried about May 1977 in the Spilsby registration district, but I don't know where.

I can send you a snip of her family record if you pm me your email address
