Evans of felinfach Llanwnen
« on: Friday 25 March 05 16:05 GMT (UK) »
My grt grt grt grandfather Thomas Evans was the miller here . Ihave him there in 1841. The family were there until the 1901 census and at least until 1916. My grt grt grandmother was born there in 1844.
Does anyone know if the mill is still there in Llanwnen?

HI,
Am in Lampeter, just down the road from Llanwnen. Was the mill in Llanwnen itself or the parish of Llanwnen do you know?Anyway, I shall get the map out and have a look and see if I can ask someone who's more local than me,
Cheers, RuthieB

Sorry to take an age over this - took me ages to find the right person to talk to! Apparently the mil was restored a while back in the hopes that it could be some sort of tourist attraction but it came to nothing. It's Felin-yr-Aber - and on the OS map, just outside of Llanwnen. It's  along a private track and I'm not sure if I can get to it, but armed with your details above, I could see what I could do.

hI Ruthie
Sorry for delay in replying I have been away on hols.
It was Felinfach Mill. The family were there until about 70 years ago.
Thanks for the information and any help would be appreciated.
