Great grandmother set up bar chandos in dock area of Antwerp about 1890 and left as german invasion neared in 1914.  Cannot find anything about it.  Great Grandfather George j Knox had been killed in an accident on the docks in about 1888 he was a marine engineer.

Antwerp archives: http://www.felixarchief.be/

(try "Zoeken in archieven", there are some indexes to aliens in Antwerp, you might have to check under your g-grandmother's maiden name as well)

Was she possibly Mary Jane Blyth? (married George John Knox in England)

 - these are records relating to buildings.  If you search for "Blyth" as the applicant there is information on two addresses - in 1890,      Italiëlei  23, and in 1892, Montevideostraat 26.
