FRECKNALL (FRICKNALL, FRIGNALL...), All
« on: Thursday 29 April 10 02:21 BST (UK) »
Is anyone researching the rather rare surname FRECKNALL or any of its many variants? Earlier records show it as FRICKNALL, FRIGNALL, FRACKNALL, etc.

Most Frecknalls originated in the Nottinghamshire-Derbyshire-Lincolnshire area. Though in the nineteenth century Frecknalls spread south to Hampshire, Northampton, London, etc., I have shown that these all are descended from Frignalls in Caunton, Nottinghamshire.

There is perhaps a link (though unconfirmed) the ancient family of FRECHEVILLE/FRECHENVILLE of Stavely, Derbyshire.

Anyone with a Frecknall on their tree, please get in touch!  :)
