There is the death of a Christopher Crawshaw recorded in Halifax in 1848. The transcription of Yorkshire burials gives a birth date of 1781 and the place as being Sowerby Bridge.

Yes I'd seen that in my travels.
By the way John, I was on another line with one of my great grandmothers - Ann Dyson/Wragg. Her maiden name was Wordsworth but I've seen it recorded somewhere as Wadsworth.,

Is it coincidence or are you on the same ancestor trail?!

By the way, that burial entry for Christopher Crawshaw ages him at 67 in 1848.

This puts his birth year at 1781 - exactly that of Crispin.

I have a John Carter marrying Ann CRAWSHAY (Crawshaw) in 1787 Dewsbury.
Any relation to your Crawshay/Crawshaw?

13th Sept 1827 Christopher Crawshaw and John Widdup was charged with breaking into a warehouse in Halifax both from Norland.

There is Ripponden village in  the township of Barkisland on Norland moor in the parish of Halifax

Ripponden sub chapelry of Halifax parish 18th century was the place of worship for that big area of moorland.(Norland)

There is Norland village but Norland moor is a big area of moorland but can be referred to by  locals as just Norland

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
