Misterton - BARTRAM
« on: Saturday 08 May 10 22:55 BST (UK) »
I am not exactly sure where to look, but I am searching for Israel Bartram (early 1700s-1762) who listed land in Misterton in his will. I believe he was a Methodist when he died but am not sure what he was christened as. He lived in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, but I am trying to see what kind of connection he had to Misterton. Any help would be great. Thank you.

I am a new member to RootsChat and noticed your interest in Israel Bartram but it does not state what year you posted your messages so I am wondering if you have now found Israel's birth.  I have had my DNA linked to this tree and I am still trying to find my link with the Bartrams, which is my maiden name.  I think from Israel's son, Israel Bartram.  Any further information you have would be of interest.  Many thanks.

Hello Patricia,
I have not found Israel's birth or any new information about him. I suspect his birth name was changed due to his support of Wesleyan Methodism. I wish I had more information. He is an enigma, and someone I would really like to learn more about.
