The name is thought to be derived from the Old English Beorhtwald's tree.

probally refers to a Sycamore or Field maple tree from the leaves turning fire red.

If you google it you will come up with various breakdowns of the name, from Old english.

Thanks all for your help...thats it.....the hall......thats the same as I was given, very cute, as a lot of homes are in this area..did Google earth street... and went for a lovely drive...
The other Hagley Hall is in Hagley Worchestershire.. and its huge...not ours... ;) ;D

If you go to     http://www.geograph.org.uk/    and put in the reference number you've just given, it will produce 9 photos.  One is of the farm but not the specific building you're after.
