Charles Bond 1823 Where is he?
« on: Sunday 09 May 10 11:55 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any info. on this man and his family.    All I know is that he was born 2 Oct 1823  to John and Jane Louisa Price in Marylebone.

He was baptised 15 Oct 1823 St Mary's Marylebone.    He married Catherine Dwyer in the summer of 1849 at St Giles.

I haven't been able to find him on any census or any death record for him or Catherine.
Thanks  Wendy.

Little  Oliver     St Giles  1 98
WALLIS  Jane     St Giles  1 98
Welsh  Julia     Giles St  1 98
Williams  Thomas     Giles St  1 98

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

If you have never been able to find him on censuses how do you know the Charles Bond baptised in Marylebone in 1823  married Catherine Dwyer n 1849?

e.g.

16th September 1855 St Pancras Parish Church born 3rd December 1854
Jonas Bond parents Charles and Jemima, Phoenix Street, father's occupation cabman
a sister Elizabeth Marian born 11th March 1852 was baptised on the same day.

At the same church
Charles Bond was baptised 3rd August 1851 born 16th July, address Margaret Row
Emma Bond 1st July 1858 born 10th February 1857, address Margaret Row
Henry Bond 24th June 1860 born 30th August 1859 , address Hampden Street, father Charles' occupation now a carpenter

1861 census RG9 112 folio 49
8 Hampden Street Pancras
Charles Bond 32 Head Married Cab Driver Marylebone Middlesex
Jane Bond 34 Wife Married Battersea Surrey
Charles Bond 11 Son
Elizabeth Bond 9 Daughter
James Bond 7 Son
Emma Bond 4 Daughter
Henry Bond 1 Son
all the children born Pancras

The 1849 marriage seems the only possible one for a Charles and Jemima marriage since the start of civil registration.

Valda has posted and expressed exactly the same conclusion I came too. Any further research is wasted until marriage certificate is obtained.

Hi Wendy

St Giles in the Fields is a registration district as well as a parish church in its own right.

The marriage may not have taken place at that church.

The registers haven't been deposited for safe-keeping but the Bishops Transcripts are available at the London Metropolitan Archives.

If you can wait until next week, I can check the entry out for you. If you can't wait or if it isn't there, you'll need to order a copy from the GRO. As you are unsure as to who the bride is, leave these boxes blank on your application.

Hi Everyone   and thanks for all your info.
I was given Catherine's name from a member of the  family who has been reseaching this side of the family for  a long time   but I have not seen anything offical.

Dawn if your offer still stands I would much appreciate  it if you  could check for me.  If it is not there I will definately order it.

Once I have the marraige sorted  then we can see where we are.

Wendy.
