[Jim Herlihy's book "The Royal Irish Constabulary" gives his RIC number as 70213.
It says he was born in Queen's Co. 26/11/1888]

the child of Andrew FLEMING and Mary BRENNAN was born in early 1889

There is a Michael FLEMING born to John FLEMING and Catherine (Kate) PURCELL at Clough
on the correct date of Nov 26 1888
Their address is given as Cloneen, Co. Kilkenny which is right on the Laois (Queen's Co.) border
John FLEMING is shown as a Farmer/Carman

LINK to Civil Reference

Edited
There are other children that I can see
Jane b Mar 18 1890 shown as Co Laois
Catherine b Oct 13 1891 shown as Co Laois
James b Jul 18 1893 shown as Co Laois
Richard b Jul 18 1895 shown as Co Laois
Andrew b Dec 12 1896 shown as Co Kilkenny

I wonder if Catherine and Richard are the children in the 1901 Census Return originally shown?

Perhaps something had happened to their parents?
This could be Michael as a servant on 1901 census

Thank you!
Michael is definitely the son of John Fleming & Catherine Purcell from Cloneen.

Are the other children you listed definitely from the same parents please?

Annie

Hi Charlotte

I am also researching Michael Fleming for my family tree.
I have learnt that there were 2 others killed & 5 injured when the lorry they were travelling in crashed into the gates of Dromoland Castle but do not know the exact reason for the crash.

I am struggling to find anything else at this time so would appreciate any help possible.

Regards
Annie

There's plenty on the internet about the accident..

Just a matter of doing some research.
