1891 census look up please
« on: Sunday 06 June 10 16:43 BST (UK) »
Could someone please have a look for a James Ingram in the 1891 census.  He was born in Dundee c1847.

I have him living with his mother Margaret c1812 in the 1871 census at 159 South Road, Dundee.

Betty

I have been unable to find either of them in the 1881 census on disc.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Betty

RG12/3847/67 p18. This is a possible but it only states born in Scotland and he was born abt 1844, living with wife Mary (no one else) his occupation looks like gardener and they are living in Yorkshire. That is the only possible I can see for 1891
Flintshire Parry, Price, Lloyd, Jones, Williams, Roberts, Ellis, Holland and Davies. Mostly from Brynford area.
Denbighshire Hannam, Evans
Scotland Clark, Duff, Ferrier, Cruikshanks, Robertson, Anderson, Mciver, Finlayson, Hodge, Galloway and Barrie
Midlands Shaw, Davenport, Skidmore, Ball

Thanks both for your replies.

I really appreciate your time.

I will need to check these out.

The family you quote in 1851 is who I have been following but I did not pick up on the James in 1851 or 1861.  It could well be that James went to America.  In 1861 they are still in Liff Road, again no James.

I will check out the Drysdale name and the possible America connection.

Thanks again.

Betty

I recorded the 1851/61 censuses a while back by writing the information on a bit of paper.  I can only think that I took down the rest of the family and omitted James as it was he who I was researching at the time.

I have now corrected my records.

Thanks again for your help.
