William Mark grave photo request, Inverarity Churchyard
« on: Tuesday 08 June 10 12:37 BST (UK) »
I'm just enquiring if there may be a kind person going to Inverarity Churchyard on research or a local who might be able to photograph the following:

William Mark age 60, interred 26.01.1934, Lair 288 7'6" South of Pin No.8 lead
and Pin No.1 foot.

and wife Annie Hannah or Mark age 92, interred 17.07.1976, Lair 287 4'6" South of Pin No.1 foot-6ft.

Would be much appreciated for anyone able.

Thanks Lindsay.

Hello,
How big is the kirkyard? Because I have an ancestor Robert Bruce Simpson who was interred there 7 Feb 1872, but I don't know the location of the burial plot, or if there's a gravestone.

Hello there

Gosh it must be a popular graveyard !   It is fairly big, but if I can help you, I certainly will.

Just to clarify, we are talking about Inverarity, which is outside Forfar?  Is that the one you are referring to?

Jane

Yes Jane, that's the one. I would greatly appreciate it if you had the chance to look around for a grave, and photograph it if you see one. I live in Belgium, so Angus is a bit tricky to get to!
If there are too many graves to look through however, never mind, I'll have the chance to visit it one year or other...
Cheers

Leave it with me and I will see what I can do to help you.  Do you know if that will be the only name on the stone, if there is one or should I look out for anything else?

I will do this tomorrow afternoon for you as I will be going past the cemetery.  If it goes reasonably straight forward, I will email you a photo tomorrow.

One way or another, I willo definitely contact you

Jane

The problem is that I don't know whether or not he has a gravestone. All I know is that he was buried in Invaririty kirkyard 7 Feb 1872. He was 46 years old when he died, and left a widow behind, Helen/Ellen Lamb McDonald.

Thanks again for the offer

Hi forfarlass,
if you've got some spare time to take a photo of the text of each, & perhaps a profile picture, that would be appreciated. But if it's a reasonable size cemetery, might be a bit of chore locating them. Annie Mark's should  be in fairly good condition since 1976. Thanks for your reply & offer,
Lindsay.
