Hi Aley.

It looks like it could be the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, but the cap badge is hard to make out.
Is there any chance of a higher definition scan?

This photo was scanned in my machine, had to send the picture back.
It kind of looks like a letter E. to me.
Lets see if this works.

The uniform is a bit odd and the bandolier is not Royal Warwickshire or any other regular infantry regt - he is probably a Volunteer as this was a sort of equipment used by them.

Is there any records with the names of the WW1 Volunteers.

Nothere are not.  He might be pre-war Territorial Force, an early war recruit in 1914/15 before proper kit was issued or a Volunteer Trg Corps (VTC) (think WW1 Home Guard).  I suspect he is the VTC soldier by his age.  There are TF county association records in places but no central or online register.

You might try posting it in the uniforms section of the Great War forum (free online) and their experts might help.  Can you blow the headshot photo up so I can see the abdges better?
