Hi Jo

If you make a couple more postings, we can send you a personal message.

My GGG Grandfather was Joseph Millson 1804-18780 so I would really like to share any information you have.

Hi again,
Thank you all very much for your replies.
I will make a couple more postings so that we can then exchange personal messages.
I am intrigued as to the documented addresses on the census' 1861,1871 and 1891. They just say 'on the common' .
Does any one know if this means there were houses on the common or were the families in some form of temporary accommodation on the common?
Jo :)

Hello
This means Bucklebury Common, and yes, there were houses on it, and still are.

suemoo2,MarksWife,JLW30 et al,

Although I'm a Barnes, I'm descended from the Millson's via my Fathers mother, Kathlean Millson/m.
My GGG was Joseph Millsom and therefore the "infamous" Charles a GGG Uncle.
I don't know if this link is of any use but it might fill in a few gaps......

It was very interesting to read all about Charles Millson. He is my GGG Uncle, his brother Edward being my GGG Grandfather. Thank you everyone for sharing your information. It has been very helpful information for my family tree.
Kind regards
Reg Millsom
(the n was changed to an m by my grandfather William James Millson)
