This Ellen Malone that married Sam Andrews was born in 1845 and married in 1875. Her Father William died in 1864 I believe. Her mother of course was Jane Cunningham. Ellen had 2 brothers - William and John.  William married Nancy Hemphill in 1861, John married Mary Moon in 1864 the same year as his father died. John's daughter was the previously mentioned Ellen Jane Malone.
I am still checking for my own records but I believe your Ellen's grandfather was William born in 1780. Confusing when they kept using 'given' names. Hope this is of some interest.

Many thanks Jeser. Ellen Malone is my great grandmother, therefore I think, William is our common great great grandfather!
I would be interested in the birth record you have for Ellen. I would also be interested to find the William Malone d.1864- newspaper obituary, if you can point me in the right direction.

Thanks again for your help!

Hello again, You may be right about us both having William (born 1864) as our common Grt. Grt.
Grandfather. Imagine that! When I first started to take an interest in this family tree it must have been about 6 or 7 years ago and Aghadowey and Kingskerswell were very helpful as you will be see from previous posts, so have to admit that I haven't looked at it for a few years, it may take me a little time to go back through my notes, but I will try to get the information you are looking for.
Meantime, if William was your Grt. Grt. Grandfather who was your Grt. Grandfather?

The information I posted was gathered from a variety of sources over many years. The main ones are-

William Malone/Nancy Hemphill and John Malone/Mary Moon- marriages, Coleraine Registry Office.
Children of John Malone/Mary Moon- birth registrations, baptisms Aghadowey Presbyterian Church.
William Malone d.1864- newspaper obituary.

Hello Aghadowey
I am interested in the William Malone d. 1864 - newspaper obituary. Could you point me to where I might find this please?

Thanks

Thanks Aghadowey.

So I thought the obituary was of William Malone father of Ellen above....but obviously not!

I am beginning to think that the Ellen Malone above is not the daughter of William Malone and Jane Cunningham as mentioned in this thread.
