Sorry if I misled you. 97 is the address reference or site number in Baldoyle Village.

I can give you full reference details if you want to order a copy of the census returns from NAI at 2.54 Euro each.

Hi Dara

Thank you again for the generous help.

Sorry, though, I think there's a problem with that link.  I thought at first it was just a site carrying a lot of adverts to finance the work, but it went on to offering to transfer money and allsorts, so I cut it fast.

I'll try googling it in the morning.

I'll have a look aty the rest of the stuff.

Thank you again. :)

Sorry about that. I've changed the link. The original address is from their publication. I guess they changed their server since the book was published.

The new link seems to work fine. It's not necessary to register to browse their collection. Just click on the menu at left of screen.

Dara.

Hi Dara

Thank you :) :) :)

I'd decided to give up on it, thinking the web site have died.

Thank you again for sorting it.

Guys,

I just lastnight happed to be looking at a book with old pictures (Dublin pictures 1870's to 1940) that my parents gave me... and one picture was from High Park Convent, Drumcondra... inside it with people. The thing was it said "Aslyum" High Park Covent, Drumcondra (as far as I can remember). So I am not sure if this is the same place.

Let me bring this into work tomorrow and scan it in for you (hopefully I remember it)

Ooh

Thank you!

I still have the investigation to do, but photo's are always the icing on the cake!

Thank you very much!

Looking at the site there seems to be all sorts went on there, so it sounds as if it is very likely to be the same place.

Thank you again.

It would seem  this is St. Mary's Magdalen Asylum, High Park, Drumcondra, Dublin 9
.
It was a Laundry and has long closed and been knocked down and how their is a block of apartments where the Magdalen women used to work.  They were buried over in a field near by and in 1993 were exhumed, cremated and then put in a mass grave up in Glasnevin Cemetary.

Thank you for the extra information.

I will send for the death certificate I was told about for Anastasia Hoey eventually, but there are a few in the queue!

Best wishes
