1841 - 1861 lookups for Shrewsbury

I recently found the following 1871 British census and 1880 US census records that I believe to be my ancestors.  I am looking for more information on Charles WILLIAMS (b. abt 1820) and his wife Sarah Ann (b. abt 1837).

Oral family history: "Sarah’s maiden name may have been DOWNS.  Charles was a painter of murials.  Either Charles died or Sarah left him before 1880 when Sarah and other family members immigrated to Canada.  Sarah’s father may have been an Itinerant preacher in Castle Gates, St Mary, Shrewsbury."

Any census lookup prior to 1871 that add to this information are appriciated.  Thank you in advance!

There are bapts for a Sarah Anne Downes at Dawley Magna,Shropshire 1834 and brother George in 1836 (plus other kids). Don't know if they are the ones you want. Parents Charles and Mary.
