hibberd/carraway 1851 census
« on: Tuesday 29 March 05 21:05 BST (UK) »
I have a Hannah Hibberd who married Charles Carraway 21st Aug 1847 in Urchfont.
She was born 1822 in Urchfont and I have no details of him, other than he was an Inland Revenue Agent.

Can anybody check the 1851 or 1861 to see if they are still in Urchfont/West Lavington and whether there are any children at that time.

Thanks

Hi,

Checked the 1851 for these two without any luck.

There are Hibberd families in the area, however there are no Carraway families to be seen in the piece HO107-1839 in which both Urchfont/West Lavington are found.

Sue.

Thanks for looking, they must have married and moved out of the area straight away.

Back to the drawing board.

There do not seem to be any Carraways in the whole of Wiltshire. I wonder whether the name could be Garraway - there are a few of those - mainly in the Calne area. No Charles though.

Thanks for replying.
As far as i know he was Charles Carraway and Hannah Hibberd married him in Urchfont Wilts on 21st August 1847.

He was found on a Census and I don't know which one but was listed as an Inland Revenue Agent, so it would have probably been in his interest to keep on the move!!

Thanks.
