Hey butb,
Do you know anything about the Harry See who was a witness at Joseph Thurstons wedding to Mary Jane Ette in Canada?

JJ do you know what ship he sailed on and was there a Harry See with him?

Molloyboy

Harry Thurston See was Joseph's brother, I believe he went to Canada with Joseph and then went to New York. I have him b 30 June 1849 Walsoken, Wisbeach, England then Grand Central Hotel, St Catharines, Ontario 1877, then 125 East 23rd Street New York. He died 2 July 1911 in New York. He had a daughter Flora b 1895. He earned a living as a portrait painter.

Do you know much about Percy Milner See butb? He really is the forgotten man of motor boat development.

He's probably one of the men tinkering in the background with the boat in this sadly silent Pathé clip.

The clip is of Mrs Victor Bruce's record breaking France-and-back trip in a Percy See designed and built boat.

Don't know much about Percy other than he was born in Weymouth and died in 1944. He was my wifes great uncle but she probably didn't meet him.
Fareham Museum, 84 West Street, Fareham, Hants, PO16 0JJ Tel 01329 824 895 has a great deal about him and Joseph who was Chairman of the Council and Commodore of the Yacht Club. www.hants.gov.uk/museum/westbury has a video about local heroes and there is a short piece on Percy.
