FITZMAURICE, Henry Rochford
« on: Wednesday 30 June 10 14:00 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have a Henry Rochford FITZMAURICE with the following information:

b. 1811
Carlow, Ireland
d. 11 Sep 1877
East Brighten, Victoria
m. GREEN, Amy 17 Apr 1841
Carlow, Ireland
d. 28 May 1846
m. FARLEY, Leonora 1853
St James Church of England, Melbourne, Victoria
d. 1910

His parents were apparently John FITZMAURICE and ? CAREY. Can anyone find any record of this family?

Thank you,
Rose-Twig  :)

Looks like the family has already been researched- although you  do need to verify the details of information like this found online. Mother Henrietta Frances Cary according to this site-

Some of the children of John and Henrietta are mentioned on the Co. Carlow parish records on IrishGenealogy - see Fitzmaurice, Carlow  (Church of Ireland)

e.g. Caroline Mary 1816

There are Fitzmaurice and I think Rochfords buried at the Killeshin Church of Ireland which is in Graiguecullen, a suburb of Carlow town.  I think there may be a military connection with the Fitzmaurice buried there.  Would that fit in with your line?  I can get you a photo of the headstone if it is your line.

Thanks for the help guys.

I do have great x7 grandfather - FITZMAURICE, Captain Hon. James born in 1670 and a few born earlier that also have military rankings... does this match the grave you've found?
