« on: Monday 05 July 10 10:48 BST (UK) »
I am looking for info related to Thomas Batty [b. abt 1751 in Assleby], his wife Susannah [no details] and their family.
There are many Thomas Batty's around at that time and I am up against a brick wall.

Hi Clive

I had actually seen the link posted by Stovepipe, it did firm up some of the data I had already put together. Where I am really stuck is with the Thomas Batty [born abt 1751] and his wife Susannah - I believe them to be parents to my 4 x Gt Grandfather Levi Batty [ b abt 1799]. If I can crack them I may be able to do something with all the Battys' 1700-1745.

Cheers
Richard

Hi
Where was Levi Batty born...Asselby/Howden or other and who did he marry, just in case there is more than one Levi which I think there is???

Could this be your Levi Batty  Bap Wressle   9th Aug  1801  father  Thomas Batty   Familysearch Pilot C10692-2
Wressle is not far from Asselby/ Howden, (up road so to speak) will check at Library for other details and areas for you.

Also  Leonard Batty  Bap  Sedburgh, Dent, York  7th Dec 1799  father Thomas Batty mother Susannah Familysearch Pilot C0145-1  100090
There is many entries on here for children to Thomas Batty & Susannah  Willan?? in areas of Dent, Luddington, Wressel, so this could well be your Thomas & Susannah.

http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=home

click on advanced search bottom left.. then type in following
in Last Name type Batty    father  Thomas    surname Batty
                                                                                                        mother    susannah
                                                                                                     location   east riding of yorkshire
                                                                                 choose   exact, close n partial
then click search, you will get abt  130 pages, Ths n Sus are first on lis.

You will need to work through them as names are re-listed a few times with different details ref no's etc.

Let me know what you find or think then I know what I am looking for at library.

This could be the marriage of Thomas Batty

Thomas Batty  to Susannah Hamson  9th Nov 1771  Adlingfleet, York (East Riding of Yorkshire area)
Familysearch Pilot  M07379-2    990852

Adlingfleet is not far from Howden, across the River Ouse into Goole and then east which in fact is not many miles north of  Luddington where those children were baptised re- message before this one.

Very rural is Howden/Goole/Adlingfleet/Luddington was mainly Ag Labs.
