Tracing Snell's / Spooner's and Dall's

Hello All,

What is the best and/or easiest way to trace (if possible) relatives that lived/born/married/died in Jo'burg ?

I have a Frederick William Snell who married Lilian Edith Dall, think around 1910, and believe that they had at least one child Albert Fredrick.

It would also be great if there was somewhere where I could find emigration records / boat crossings, because I believe that the Dall's and Snell's before that generation were in England, and only came over to South Africa because of serving in the British Army.

However, I believe Lilian's Dall's mother was born in South Africa, so any help will tracing her family back would be great. Her name was Winnie (Winnifred?) Mathilda Spooner and married John William Dall (don't know when, but guess Jo'burg) in the 1880-1890s.

It would appear he went to Australia first.
