Help - A brick wall big time - Annie Leslie (nee Munro) Siblings
« on: Friday 09 July 10 05:48 BST (UK) »
My Grandmother, Annie Leslie (nee Munro) born 14 April 1866 at Broadmeadows.  Parents John Munro & Ann Gordon immigrated to Aust  sometime after their marriage in 1853 in Inverness, Scotland.  Looking for Annies siblings, especially a sister who lived with her in Northcote until their deaths, we only ever knew her name as Lizzie and I have been unable to find anything about her at all. Annie is buried at Will-Will-Rook Cemetery in Broadmeadows, along with a sister Grace aged 9 and her mother.

Annie is the mother of my father, Stanley John Leslie and his twin sister Jean, born 1911 in Bundoora, they are not registered,  his five brothers born before them are all registered, so I found this odd.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Question for you

if Annie was born in 1866 and had twins in 1911 she was 45 years old not impossible but could the children have been adopted?

do you have her marriage details to hand or would you want them

NLA digitised newspapers have the death and funeral notices for Annie - Melbourne Argus, 15 March 1954.  Her 7 children and 2 stepchildren are listed.  Her husband William was deceased by that time.  Funeral to Will-Will-Rook cemetery as you have aready said.

Her address is given as 9 Henry St Northcote., which is the address given in the electoral rolls also.  Unfortunately no mention of her sister  :(

9 Henry St is shown on street view, Googlemap - behind a big tree!
