Ever since i stumbled across this site, i have never ceased to be amazed at the results that the various posters produce.  ^^^You people are very clever.^^^ 

Regarding Lizzie - or Elizabeth Densworth as inferred by  ~MERLIN~ - i would like to add that she is indeed listed as residing at 9 Henry Street, Northcote in 1942, 1949, and 1954  according to the State Electoral Roll.  This information supports what the original poster was asserting about 'Lizzie' living with Annie Leslie, and should certainly allow heaven to do something with that brick wall!

There was a DENSWORTH divorce in Victoria in 1944.

With no given names shown in the law notice, it is impossible to know who the couple were.

Very few DENSWORTH regs on the indexes.

Another Elizabeth DENSWORTH on the indexes  wife of Mathew  [Matthias] nee DOWLING who married in 1891.

There is a James DENSWORTH and an Ellen BRENNAN who had  a son in 1893.  However I can't see a death for Ellen or any further entries on the index for the son.  I have found the name as DENESWORTH as well.

Certs are the only way to identify James.  I agree with Jenn's post.

Cannot locate JAMES in suburban cemeteries search.

Looked thoroughly as well...could be Melbourne General and if it is there is no headstone.

G'day: I've just joined rootschat today after finding your 10 July 2010 msg mentioning James DENSWORTH and Ellen BRENNAN.  They lived in Kilmore, Vic.  Ellen brought her three children to NZ to get away from Densworth in the early 1900's.  They are my gr-grandparents on my father's side.  Wd like to exchange info with you.   I'm not very sure how to get around rootschat.com so hope someone can steer me to get started.
