Alfred BUTCHER, Strood.

I am looking for Alfred BUTCHER, born abt. 1901, Kent. Father George BUTCHER, I think they lived in Charles Street, Strood.

Alfred married Daisy Lowery, in abt.1930 in Strood.

I am led to believe that Alfred was employed as a dockyard worker possibly a rigger.

Any help or pointers welcome.

Are you sure that you have the right family in 1911. His father is given as George when Alfred married in 1930.

Think you will find he is the one with George and Maria Lyfelly BUTCHER as parents in Strood. His name is spelt as Alfrid, with four other siblings.

George BUTCHER married Maria Lyfolly MARSH, Sep qtr 1887 at Strood, and they were in Strood in 1901 census.

George and Maria are my great grandparents, I've arrived today in Rochester to do some family research - am planning to visit Charles Street and Alma Place (where they lived) and St Nicholas church where they were married on 24 September 1887.
