Charles Edmund to Margaret Bevan      22/07/1831

Charles was born around 1811
No obvious link to William (see below)
Doesn’t state if they were bachelor and spinster
Both signed “X”
Witnesses were Isaac Hammond and John Davies

This is probably the marriage of Charles Edmund (Copperman) mentioned earlier

David Edmond to Mary Rees         09/04/1831

David was born around 1800
No obvious links to William, however (see below)
Doesn’t state if they were bachelor and spinster
Both signed “X”
Witnesses were William Beynon and William Howell

Although no obvious link to William in 1841 and 1851 they were living at Tynewyyd and in 1851 Tynewyyd is listed as next to Herberdeg farm. In 1861 they were living at Heberdeg cottage. So there are links to Herberdeg.

Richard Edmund to Margaret Griffiths      27/05/1833

Richard was born around 1811
This is the known son, Richard of Caerbigyn farm, Five Roads, Llanelly
Doesn’t state if they were bachelor and spinster
Richard signed, Margaret
Witnesses were Richard’s brothers Charles and William Edmunds

Richard was a signatory on the Mynydd Sylen agreement of 25 Aug 1843, which tried to put in place measures to quell the Rebecca Riots, in contrast to Charles Edmund and Thomas Morris (Husband of Elizabeth Edmund) involvement!

Charles Edmund to Margaret Griffith      17/09/1833

Charles was born around 1815
Looks to be a son of William and Margaret Edmund as John Edmund (a known son, see below) was a witness
Doesn’t state if they were bachelor and spinster
Charles signed, Margaret put an “X”
Witnesses were John Edmund and Phillip Davies, John is Charles’s brother he would have only been 14 at the time. Charles’s signature on this marriage entry also corresponds to his signature as witness to Richard Edmund’s marriage.

Charles was a Collier living at Tyrderry in 1841 and 1851 before moving to Aberdare. He had a son John who is buried at Horeb Chapel where is address is given as Capcoch, Aberdare. It looks like after Margaret Edmund (Charles's wife) died (sometime before 1861) the children were split up between Charles and his eldest son John as in 1861 Anne (15) and Thomas Edmund (13) are living with Charles in Aberdare, while John (A School Master) was still at Tyrderry, Llanelly Hengoed with his brothers and sisters Margaret (21), Isaac (10), David (7) and Charles (4). I presume soon after this they all moved to be with Charles in Aberdare where John died (1868), which is supported by the fact that in 1871 Isaac, David and Charles now 20, 18 and 15 were living with Charles in Aberdare.

John Edmund to Jane Williams         29 Dec 1843

John was born around 1819
John is a known son of William and Margaret as on his marriage certificate his father is listed as William Edmund Farmer (which must be William Edmund (senior) as William (“junior”) only married in 1827). John is also listed as living at Herberdeg with Margaret in the 1841 census.
John was a batchelor, Jane was a spinster
John’s occupation (on marriage certificate) was listed as Farmer at Harberdeg Farm
John signed, Jane put an “X”
Witnesses were John’s brothers William and Richard Edmund

Mary Edmund to William Bowen      27 Dec 1850

Mary is not a child of William but is a daughter of Charles Edmund (Collier), as stated on her marriage certificate. Mary was born around 1827. This together with the fact that in 1841 she was at Herberdeg, next door to Crossant Hill, where Charles Edmund and Mary (his wife) were living indicates Mary was a daughter of Charles and Mary
However there are strong links between Mary and Margaret Edmund. In 1841 she is living with Margaret at Herberdeg, in 1851 Mary and William Bowen are living with Margaret and William Jones at Caerbrenin (reference HO107 Piece 2468, Folio 389, Page 13), In 1861 Mary and William Bowen and family are still living at Caerbrenin (reference RG9, Piece 4114, Folio 62, Page 31) as is Margaret (Holder of Land).
In 1871 they are living at "Cwmaman" in Llandebie, Cwmamman (reference RG19, Piece, 5849, Folio 88, Page 20).
Margaret Edmund died at Llandebie, Cwmamman on 12 Jul 1866 (informant John Jones). I suspect that Margaret had moved to Cwamman to live with or be near Mary.

Sarah Edmund to William Jones         19/04/1843

Sarah was born abt. 1821
Sarah a known daughter of William, William Edmunds Farmer is listed as her father and William Edmunds (her brother who marries in 1827) was a witness.
William Jones signed, Sarah put an “X”
Sarah’s address on marriage certificate is Herberdeg. William was a Collier living at Felinvach. Father was Thomas Jones (Collier). William was born Llangendeirne
