Hi,
   Marrying twice is something I have come across several times but the gap is puzzling. I think it was sometimes done when one partner was Protestant and the other was Catholic but I have come across it where one marriage was performed in a Church of Ireland followed by a Presbyterian marriage or vice versa. I think that the greatest gap I have come across up to now was less than one month.

have just read your details about George Edmunds with interest. He was my great great grandfather and I can remember my dad telling me about him. I too have a copy of the article about his funeral. Although it says he was 102 my father always said he was in fact a year older so I don`t know if that makes a difference to your seach. He was actually Batman to General Havelock.

Hi,
I've just came across your post from two years ago about George Edmonds. George is also my great grandfather and my grandma used to tell me story's about him as she remembered him as a small child. I'm really interested in any info you may have about him. I really hope you get this message and can share anything you know about him. I believe he was involved in the Crimean as well as the Indian mutiny.

Hi Nicwills. It was a surprise to hear from another member of the family. After this post 2 years ago I had many exchanges with Ianardo who has done lots of research into George. My dad was named after him and his father was Oscar Edmunds. There seems to be a lot of doubt about the age of the  older George, but my dad was sure he was 103 which is not backed up by the records.
