Where did you get those details from?  There is a Thomas Cooper b 1819 but he was b Heage not Belper and was living in Heage

Who was his wife before I post details

                I found those details on Findmypast, thing is they often get spelt  Cope & Cooper.
  Looks like Thomas was married 3 times, he married a Georgehana Pearson in Mar 1871.
  He had a daughter Ruth in 1861 Mary in 1866 & Thomas Henry in 1870 if that helps. In 1881
they were at Belper Road Heage.

In 1851 it looks like he was married to Martha, if it helps !

   yes he married Martha Bilbie in 1844 who died in 1853 aged 31.  I am trying to find how many kids he had as he only had the 3 in 1881 but Georgehana can't have been the mother as they only married in 1871.

 after having children together, very strange.

             the correct name is Coope, this is my wifes family  but due to all the various spellings
 it's hard to sort them out. I don't know of a Brenda Potts. My wife is descended from Thomas's
brother Isaac born about 1821 (no baptism) can't find him either. He married an Elizabeth Wragg in 1848 as Isaac Cope but there were no children & he went off with another woman & had 3
children late in life.
