How very strange :o, thanks for that Raylen, I hadn't even bothered to check for Walter's birth as he was said to have been "adopted". Apparently after his parents were killed. ???

Just shows how family info can become distorted for one reason or another.

Rose M married Frederick Brown in the June Qtr of 1921 so could this mean that Fred "adopted" Walter as his own.

More digging to do. :)

Many thanks again.

Just wanted to thank you all again for your help on this thread & to say that I have found a photo of Walter Stanley Hunt & his regiment on the Trove, NLA site.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/result?q=%22walter+stanley+hunt%22.

The photo has been shown to his cousin, that I mentioned in one of the posts, & the family likeness is amazing.

Many many thanks again from all the extended Brown family. ;D

Hi,
Sydney Alfred Hunt death 1964 at Manly Reg No 29979, no Rose until 1979, can't find either of them on the Ryerson Index.

Hi mum mum

Many thanks for your interest but I don't think that was Sydney as his middle name was Arthur.

I have found a burial for a Sidney Arthur Hunt, 22 June 1967 at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park so I'm keeping that as a possible. :-\

Thanks again

Death
3044/1967
HUNT  Arthur Sidney   62 years   Seaman  Died Pyrmont
District Sydney

I doubt this is your Sydney Arthur HUNT.  The marriage registration, electoral enrolments and NOK have Sydney as first given name and spelt with a "y".  This death reg is for a seaman.

Many thanks for that info Cando, at least I can knock that one of my list. :'(

I don't suppose you would know if there is any way I could find more info on the Rose Martha Hunt that I found cremated in Woronora Crem, ashes collected 29/7/87. Pity there isn't an age mentioned that would have given me a clue.

Your help is much appreciated.

I would contact the cemetery.  Hopefully they may be able to furnish more information.
