James and Alice Flood Widnes

Hi I am looking for details for James and his wife Alice Flood I have the 1881 details for 15 Grenfell St Widnes
James b 1841 Ire
Alice    b 1841 Ire
Eliza (should be Lizzie) b1870 Widnes
Thomas b 1873 Widnes
John b 1877 Widnes
Joseph b 1879 Widnes

I have 1901 for Alice (widow) and sons John and Joseph  at 26 Sea St Widnes Lizzie (my gt grandmother) was by then married to James Brennan and living in Chester St Widnes
I have also found (thanks to FindMyPast and football) the 1911 census Alice still alive with unmarried son John

Both Joseph and Thomas lost their lives in WW1

What I would like to find is any details for 1891 and 1871

Alice was according to 1911 details born in Co Wicklow  and as I cant find a marriage in England think they may have married in Ireland Alice was Alice Gahaghan


If anyone can help that would be great

23 Sept 1865,, James father James also.

Only thing is, I notice the have James born 1825 - too soon, but not sure how accurate those extra notes are. 

I wonder if they were married over here?

At 4 Elizabeth St Widnes,

Frank Golachar and wife Catherine both 54 b Ireland,

Lodger William Gollachar 25 b Ireland and wife Bridget b St Helens with baby James 1 week b Widnes

Lodger James Flood 32 and wife Alice 24 Both b Ireland and daughternElizabeth aged 1 yr b Widnes.

All adult males work as labourers in chemicals.

I think I have son Joseph Flood visiting Samuel Ellis and large family in Oxford St Widnes, but can't just see the others.  He's an alkali labourer.

I am not sure about the marriage in Naas I know she was born in Co Wicklow and think they may have married in Ireland  I cant find a marriage in England for them and as they did not have a house of their own in 1871 they may not have been in England long  I still cant find them in 1891

There's a death in 1883 Prescott for James Flood aged 44.  There are a few, but this would explain not finding them in 1891.  Can't see Alice though.  Could she have gone back to Ireland?

I dont know if she went back to Ireland for a time, she was in Widnes by 1901 a widow with sons John and Joseph living at 26 Sea Street Widnes Lizzie was married by then I dont know where Thomas was
