The RHODES' of Windsor c. 1900
« on: Friday 01 April 05 12:32 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a RHODES family that were in Windsor around 1890-1910. My great grandmother , Leah WORTHINGTON (b. 1875, Willenhall, Staffs)was housemaid for them at some time during this period. She received a prayer book from R. RHODES and a beautifully ornate silver knive - the type used to cut wedding cakes. I am guessing she was a pretty good member of the staff!

I'd love to hear from anyone who thinks they may know of the family in question.

Cheers,
Julie

Hi Juey
I cant find the Rhodes family but found Leah in 1891 and 1901 and on both occasions she was listed as a visitor .In 1891 no occupation was given for her but in 1901 she was a housemaid and on both occasions she was in Staffs.

Thanks Joe. Yes, she used to get around a bit! The period in question may even have been a little later than 1901.  This is just a stab in the dark really, don't think I'm going to get very far with it! :(
