Hi I have discovered my fathers birth certificate which shows he was born on 5,8,1918.it provides the fathers name as Robert Henry Brown profession company serjeant major with 317 Worcs Co-Labour corps. looking into the records it would appear he died in action on 25.4.1918 before my father was born.I am interested to know if Robert had any other children and whether anyone has a family tree.
cheers

Hi geoffn2000
As you can see from my previous posts Robert Brown b. 1886 was my great uncle....and I've researched his life, he was a professional soldier from before WW1 and served in India among other places before sadly being killed in the late stages of the war...his father, my great grandfather Peter Brown was named as next of kin, so to know Robert had a son born not long after his death has come as a great surprise..would love to know more.  I shall pm you to give you some info
Cheers  Jen
