Mine go back to Whitwick, Loughborough & Lowesby but, I'm struggling now, can't find any siblings to William & Thomas Walker, found their father Anthony Walker, not mother though.

William Walker 1797 married Harriet Brown 1801 from Loughborough 11 Dec 1821, later moved to St. Benedict's lane, Lincoln.

Thomas Walker 1806 married Mary Maria Clifford 1809 from Lowesby 6 Nov 1827, they also moved to St. Benedict's lane, Lincoln.

Their father Anthony Walker abt 1758 is on William's second marriage cert & on the 1841 census has William & Thomas coming from Whitwick. Have family rings of Australian gold, maybe its their siblings who went to Australia, don't know, or know who came back.

Can anyone offer any help on siblings & mother of the above, would really apreciate it,

regards spatts.  :) Merry Xmas to you all.
Walker :- Lincolnshire/Leicestershire.
Andrew :- Lancashire.
Lancaster :- Lancashire.
Beard :- Cheshire.
Kirk :- Lincolnshire.
Brown:- Leicestershire.
Kershaw, Rochdale.
Salisbury, Manchester & Denbyshire.
Edwards:- Levenshulme & Wales.

My direct ancestors were from Lutterworth, Peggs Green & the Coleorton Area,Seagrave Walton on the Wolds,Their families stayed at home but they travelled, whether through work or marriage.Sometimes makes it interesting, how come a daughter & a son from a family that seemed to be ag.labourers was born in Devon. There father was a coacman for a few years and I guess he must have been with a family.

Hi Steve, i found the 1810 baptism on the pilot site - 28/4/1810 Ashby parents John & Alice. but if the marriage cert says William & Ann then you have your answer.

coalville library also has the stanton records so you should be able to check the Baptism there.

My ancestors lived in Flora Street, Noble Street, Great Holme Street.   Another branch ran a pub in Highcross Street, I think it was called The Golden Ball.  Another branch lived in Wigston Magna.

I lived in Leicester Forest East when I was a child,  many years later my parents moved to Kirby Muxloe.
My father worked for many years in Hinckley.

I haven't been back there for a long, long time, I expect it's all different now!!

LFE was my childhood home too for around 21 years. The fields where the LFE motorway service station now stands were my adventure playground. I walked along the M1 when it was being built.

I was born in the City however (within shouting distance of Welford Rd.  Tigers!). Kirby Muxloe was a "stamping ground" as a teenage as well as being on the school bus route. Family connections in the City (lots) on both sides and also Earl Shilton and Croft.

Still support the Tigers from down south but too far to attend matches sadly, except when they play away in this area or go to Twickenham.

cheers

Kirby was on the bus route to Market Bosworth where I went to school at 11. My first school was in LFE. So I didn't go to school in Kirby, just played tennis there and went to the Red Cow!

Hi TonyV,

Did you go to Holmfield Avenue school?
If you did I expect I know you, or my brother will.
Do you remember the spinney/wood where the motel is now, by the motorway on the Hinckley Road?
I used to walk through it on the way to and from school, but I was always too frightened to go to the back of the wood as there were often strange noises coming from there, probably only sawing wood but to an 8,9,10 year old it could have been anything!!
I used to live near Worthingtons shop, do you remember that?

Regards
Foz
