Drabble(completed with thanks)

Hello all,

I am looking for Joseph Drabble.

The information I have is he was born in c1837, and that he married Jane Maxwell also born c1837. They married I think in the Dec Q 1856 in Liverpool .

Joseph died in New Zealand and his death notice says 'late of Liverpool'.

I am  trying to find them on the census of 1861 and 71. I can't find when they emigrated so am hoping to narrow it down if possible.

I believe their children were
Sarah Jane
Elizabeth Alice
Thomas Henry
Jane
Joseph William
Annie.

Not sure where the children were born, I can find no record in NZ, except for perhaps Thomas, but not proven yet.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much, thats brilliant.

I have found a couple of deaths for Joseph Drabble and Catherine Drabble in NZ born C1813/14. I wonder if these are Josephs parents, they are buried in the same cemetery as him. They arrived in NZ in 1874.

Thomas, son, 11, Scholar, Stockport
Catherine, Daur, 4, Scholar, Liverpool
Alice, Daur, 2? months,Liverpool

Hi Leandra,

Do you have access to Ancestry, there are 4 trees with Joseph Drabble and family in them.  One claims he travelled to Canterbury, New Zealand on 17 Aug 1863 on the "British Crown" There's another emigration again on 27 Dec 1874 on the "Geraldine Paget".

There is an image of the passenger list for the British Crown showing 2 Drabble families.
Drabble: Joseph 24, Jane 25, Sarah Jane 4, Elizabeth A 1.
Drabble: Thomas 22, Elizabeth 23, Susannah 2, Elizabeth infant.

Thomas would be Joseph's brother.
