I have been sorting my mothers things out and have come across an identity card fro Douglas Vivier Le Marchand. My mother lived in jersey during the occupation. I don't know how she came by it but I would like to give it back to the family

Hello Dawson, Welcome to RootsChat.

I am sorry but we have lost contact with the lady who started off this post, it looks like she changed email but never came back to let us know what the new one is.

Wow... that would be really nice.. how would you like to do that?   I live in Australia... I understand how we at times can have things that belong to others  i have a couple of things like that...  the unusual thing was that mum and i were watching Another Mothers Son on Netflix.. then we discussed the occupation and she told me about my uncles brother...   it was very sad... my uncle never got over his death..  thank you for connecting with me. God bless

Hi, I’ve just come across this post. My grandfather Martyn John Le Marchand is Douglas’ brother, he still lives in Jersey. Please could you let me know if you still have the identity card? I would love to pass it onto my grandad.

Did your grandfather have a brother called Arthur Charles Le Marchand born on the 21 Oct 1914 in St Martins ?
Arthur Le Marchand is shown as the grandson of Jean Bazile Le Marchand. ( 1921 Census ).
It would appear that Jean Bazile only had one son and that was Charles Jules Le Marchand , possibly my dads father ? I have no birth certificate but on his Marriage Certificate, his father is named as Arthur Charles Le Marchand.
Any help appreciated.
